# Connect External AI Systems
# Get Vena MCP Server URL
To complete the steps below, you must have the Vena MCP Server URL. This action requires **Admin** permissions in Vena.
1. Log in to Vena and navigate to the **Admin** tab.
2. Select **Policies**, then **Model Context Protocol** from the sidebar.
3. Select the **Copy** icon to copy the Vena MCP Server URL.
4. Download the **skills bundle** if your AI system supports it.
Note: If your organization has SSO enabled, you must assign the users of the MCP a Vena password or use Application Tokens when connecting to Vena's MCP. The Vena password or Application Token is used in place of SSO credentials for MCP authentication.
# Claude
## Create Connector (Admin or Owner Only)
To create a connector, you must have **Admin** or **Owner** permissions.
### Create the Connector
1. Navigate to the Claude web interface.
2. Select your **profile icon**.
3. Select **Organization settings**, then **Connectors**.
4. Select **Add** → **Custom** → **Web**.
5. Enter a name for your connector.
6. Paste the **Vena MCP Server URL** you copied from the Vena Admin tab into the **Remote MCP server URL** field.
7. Leave **Advanced settings** empty.
8. Select **Add**.
### Allow Vena Domain (Owner Only)
As an **Owner**, you must add Vena to your allowed domain list.
1. Select your **profile icon**, then **Settings**.
2. Select **Capabilities**.
3. In the **Code execution** section, ensure the following are turned **ON**:
* Code execution and file creation
* Allow network access
4. Under **Domain allowlist**, choose the appropriate access level.
5. In **Additional allowed domains**, enter: `*.vena.io` Select **Add**.
## Use Connector (All Users)
Once the Vena MCP connector is created, users can access it by following these steps:
1. Navigate to the Claude web interface.
2. Select **Customize**, then **Connectors**.
3. Select the **+** icon.
4. Locate **Vena MCP** and select **Connect**. You will be redirected to a login page.
5. Log in with your Vena credentials.
6. Start a new chat and select **Connectors** to verify that the Vena connector is active.
7. Begin your conversation.
# ChatGPT
## Create Connector (Admin or Owner Only)
If you are a ChatGPT Admin or Owner and applications at your organization are IT-managed, you can create and publish a connector for all users.
1. Navigate to the ChatGPT web interface.
2. Select your **profile** ion, then **Workspace settings**.
3. Select **Apps**.
4. Select **Create**.
5. Enter a name for the connector.
6. Paste the Vena MCP Server URL in the field.
7. Select **OAuth** from the Authentication drop-down menu.
8. Check the box next to “I understand and want to continue”.
9. Select **Create**.
10. From **Workspace settings** > **Apps**, select **Drafts**. If you don’t see the Vena app, refresh the page.
11. Locate the Vena app, then select **Publish.**
12. Review and authorize the app if prompted, then complete publishing.

## Use Connector (All Users)
1. Start a new chat.
2. Begin your conversation or Optionally you can:
1. Select **Add files & more**, then **More**.
2. Select the **Vena MCP connector**.
3. ChatGPT will prompt you to **Connect** to the MCP, you will be redirected to a login page.
4. Log in with your Vena credentials.
# Microsoft Copilot
## Create MCP Tool (Admin or Owner)
You must have permission to create or edit Agents in Copilot Studio.
1. Navigate to [Copilot Studio](https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com/).
2. Select **Agents** from the sidebar.
3. Select an existing Agent or select the **create blank agent** button.
4. In the Agent editor, select **Tools**, then **Add a Tool**.
5. Select **Model Context Protocol**.
6. Enter a server name, description and the Vena MCP Server URL.
7. Under Authentication, select **OAuth 2.0**. Select **Dynamic discovery** as the type.
8. Select **Create**.
9. Select **Create a new connection**.
10. Next to Connection, select the **drop-down menu** and select **Create new connection**.
11. Select **Add and configure**.
12. Your Agent can now connect to Vena’s MCP Server.

## Use MCP-Enabled Agent (All Users)
1. Once the Agent is published, submit a prompt.
2. Select **Open connection manager**.
3. In the Manage your connections page, select **Connect** or **Review**.
4. Select the **drop-down menu** and select **Create new connection**.
5. Select **Create**, you will be redirected to a login page.
6. Log in with your Vena credentials.
7. Select **Submit** and return to the Chat view. Select **Retry** or enter a prompt.
# Perplexity AI
## Create Connector (Admin Only)
Custom connectors must be enabled for your organization before members can add them. If custom connectors are already enabled, skip to [Add the Connector](#add-the-connector).
### Enable Custom Connectors (Admin)
1. Navigate to the Perplexity web interface.
2. Select your **profile icon**, then **Settings**.
3. Select **Connectors**.
4. In **Enterprise settings**, toggle **Allow members to add custom connectors** to on.
### Add the Connector
1. From the **Connectors** page, select the **+ Add custom connector** dropdown in the top-right corner.
2. Select **Add custom connector**.
3. In the **Add custom connector** modal, enter a **Name** for your connector (e.g., "Vena MCP").
4. Optionally add a **Description**.
5. Paste the **Vena MCP Server URL** you copied from the Vena Admin tab into the **MCP server URL** field.
6. Leave **Advanced** settings collapsed/empty.
7. Select the checkbox to confirm **I understand custom connectors can introduce risks**.
8. Select **Add**.
Once added, the connector appears in the **Connectors** list. Selecting it opens its detail panel, where you (or, if shared, other organization members) can complete authentication.
### If an admin adds this connector for the whole organization, it must be shared from the **Permissions** screen in Enterprise settings before other members can see and use it.
## Use Connector (All Users)
Once the Vena MCP connector is available, users can access it by following these steps:
1. Navigate to the Perplexity web interface.
2. Select your **profile icon**, then **Settings** → **Connectors**.
3. Locate **Vena MCP** and select it (or select **Connect**/**Add connector**). You will be redirected to a login page.
4. Log in with your Vena credentials to complete authentication.
5. Start a new thread, select the **+** icon (or **Sources**), and confirm the Vena MCP connector is checked/enabled.
6. Begin your conversation.
